WATER & SEWER RATES

Rate Changes,
October, 2010.
As a result of the
mandated conversion to surface water, the District’s
monthly payments to the North Harris County Regional
Water Authority went up sharply, and the District
also incurred other costs. The District changed its
water rates, as follows:
(A)
INSIDE DISTRICT: The rates were simplified. The
basic structure became $7.68/unit/month for 2,000
gallons, plus $3.84 per additional 1,000 gallons
(including NHCRWA costs; no surcharge).
(B)
OUTSIDE DISTRICT: The surcharge for NHCRWA costs
increased from $1.96 to $2.47 per 1,000 gallons.
These changes took
effect with the bills mailed in early November. They
are reflected in the tables below. |

INSIDE-DISTRICT CUSTOMERS:
Single
Family Homes:
For the first 2,000 gallons of
usage (or any part thereof): $7.68
per billing period (minimum bill)
For all usage over 2,000
gallons in the billing period:
$3.84 per 1,000 gallons
Commercial:
For the first 2,000 gallons (or any part
thereof): $7.68 per billing
period (minimum bill)
For all usage over2,000 gallons in the billing period:
$3.84 per 1,000 gallons.
Multi-Family:
For the minimum quantity (or any part thereof):
$7.68 per unit (minimum bill)
For all usage over minimum quantity in the billing
period: $3.84 per 1,000 gallons.
(The minimum quantity is 2,000 gallons multiplied by the
number of units.)
Irrigation.
For the first 2,000 gallons of usage (or any part
thereof): $7.68 per billing period (minimum
bill)
For all usage over 2,000 gallons in the billing period: $3.84
per 1,000 gallons.
OUTSIDE -
DISTRICT CUSTOMERS:
Single
Family:
First 7,000 gals. $7.50
(minimum)
All over 7,000
gals. thereafter $2.15 per 1,000 gals.
(plus charge for
NHCRWA costs; see below)
Commercial:
For the first 7,000
gallons (or any part thereof): $15.00
per billing period (minimum bill)
For all usage
over7,000 gallons in the billing period: $2.15 per 1,000 gals.

Irrigation-Only:
Minimum rate of $7.50 for the first 1,000 gallons per month
and $2.15 per 1,000 gallons per month of water
consumption thereafter (plus charge for NHCRWA costs; see
below).
Charge for
NHCRWA Costs (Outside District).
All metered customers outside District boundaries shall be
billed $2.47 per thousand gallons of water consumption
per month in addition to the normal monthly billing for
water consumption.
